Your AWOL guide will meet you at 7am (or earlier on request) at your either your hotel in the city OR V&A Waterfront Battery Park. From there you cycle alongside the Atlantic beachfront through the luxurious seaside suburbs of Seapoint, Clifton, Camps Bay and Llundudno, up and over Suikerbossie, an iconic stretch of the Cape Cycle Tour, and head down towards Hout Bay, where you will come to the bottom of Chapmans Peak. A coastal road that connects the suburbs Hout Bay and Noordhoek, this mountainside drive is hugely popular with cyclists and site seers from both the Cape and beyond. Be prepared for a bit of a challenging climb up, but we can assure you the effort is well worth it once you reach the top and take in the spectacular view of Cape Town and Hout Bay Harbour. From here you have the option of cruising back down Chapmans Peak and returning to the V&A Waterfront, a total route distance of 58km. A second option is to cycle down the other side of Chapmans Peak into Noordhoek, and along from Noordhoek through to the historical coastal suburb of Simonstown and back, doing the reverse Chapmans Peak and heading back to the Waterfront, a route total of 89km.

As this is a private tour, the cycling can be adjusted to as much or as little as you would like, simply consult with your AWOL guide. The tour is done on hybrid bicycles, but at prior request you can upgrade to road bikes at an additional R500.
